Living with the Sun

Living with the Sun is the first (and only) volume serving as the proceedings of the 1957 "International Architectural Competition To Design a Solar Heated Residence" held by the Association for Applied Solar Energy - the organisation that later changed its name to the International Solar Energy Society.

The volume is a real treasure trove for those interested in bio-climatic architecture. It contains sixty entries, each presented as a complete hand-drawn plan. The book has an unusual format - 14 x 14 inches - and has been scanned at very high resolution from one of the very few remaining copies. It is possible to zoom in to view every fascinating detail of these plans, drawn up more than 45 years ago.
